HC Deb 16 January 1981 vol 996 c624W
Mr. Freeson

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Brent, South (Mr. Pavitt) on 16 December 1980, when he intends to reply to the letter of 9 December from the right hon. Member for Brent, East; and if he will increase Brent's housing investment programme allocation to enable it to continue work on 197 properties in its redevelopment programme, which has had to be delayed, and to commence major works on 43 properties which have had to be stopped.

Mr. Stanley

I replied to the right hon. Member's letter on 12 January. Regarding expenditure under Brent's housing investment programme allocation for 1980–81, I refer the right hon. Gentleman to the statement made by my right hon. Friend on 15 December. As far as Brent's allocation for 1981–82 is concerned, I refer the right hon. Gentleman to the scope for increasing allocations by use of capital receipts as set out in the Department's administrative memorandum on local authority capital expenditure controls of 12 December, a copy of which is in the Library.
