[pursuant to his reply, 15 January 1981]: The Inland Revenue consultative document "Capital Transfer Tax and Settled Property" includes a large number of suggestions for ways in which the law relating to this subject might be changed. Many of these suggestions—which are in no sense proposals—are alternatives, and many others are interconnected. If the hon. Lady has a specific suggestion or combination of suggestions in mind, I shall be glad to consider how far it is possible to provide an estimated cost.
