asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he is satisfied that home leave is being properly carried out.

Mr. Alison

Yes. Compassionate home leave may be granted to sentenced prisoners who have close relatives who are very seriously ill or who have died. Applications from prisoners are considered on their individual merits and security considerations are taken into account.
