§ 45. Mr. Madelasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he expects the Cockcroft inquiry into the teaching of mathematics in secondary schools in England to report before 1 April 1981; and if he will make a statement.
§ Dr. BoysonI understand that the Cockcroft committee is now concluding its work, and I am satisfied that every effort is being made to complete its report as speedily as possible. It is, however, uncertain whether the report will be completed by 1 April 1981.
