Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many teachers are currently employed by the county of Derbyshire in the following fields (a) music, (b) art and (c) craft and design technology; and what were the figures for the years 1978 and 1979.

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the present pupil to teacher ratio in primary schools throughout the county of Derbyshire; and what were the figures for 1978 and 1979.

In January 1980, the latest date for which information is available, there was a ratio of 23.6 pupils per qualified teacher within maintained primary schools in Derbyshire. In January 1978 and 1979, the comparable ratios were 24.2:1 and 23.7:1 respectively.

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many technicians have been made redundant in secondary schools throughout the county of Derbyshire in the last school year.
