asked the Secretary of State for Defence if any negotiations are being undertaken or are contemplated to allow the use of air-launched cruise missiles to be carried by B52 bombers of the United States and based in the United Kingdom either temporarily or permanently.

No such negotiations are being undertaken or are contemplated.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many B52 bombers of the United States Air Force are currently stationed in the United Kingdom; what is the purpose of such stationing; whether it is temporary or permanent; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Pattie

No B52 bombers of the United States Air Force are currently stationed in the United Kingdom. Temporary deployments of this type of aircraft take place from time to time for exercise purposes.
