In the period May 1979 to November 1980 inclusive, the total numbers of bankruptcies (of all individuals and partnerships) and of company liquidations were 6,001 and 9,297 respectively (figures cover both England and Wales). The available statistics of insolvencies do not include an analysis by size of business.
