§ Mr. Marksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has recieved from local authority associations and individual local authorities about his proposed changes in the procedure for planning appeals; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Giles ShawThe consultation paper on the planning appeals system, which was issued on 21 October 1980, has so far attracted responses from the Association of County Councils, the Association of District Councils, the London Boroughs Association, and about 200 county and district planning authorities. Although I can say that these replies are generally sympathetic, I cannot comment in detail until my right hon. Friends and I have completed consideration of the responses.
