Information since 1969 on the numbers of serious offences recorded by the police in which firearms were reported to have been involved, and on the numbers of persons found guilty of offences triable summarily under the Firearms Act 1968—where this was the principal offence—is published annually in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales"—tables 3.1, 3.11, l0(a) and 10(b) of the volume for 1979, Cmnd. 8098.
