§ Mr. BrittanOver the 12 years up to January 1981. the price changes in real terms have been as follows:
Beer –2–per cent. Cigarettes –24per cent. Spirits, wines etc. –37 per cent. These price changes have been calculated by deflating the component indices of the retail prices index—RPI—using the RPI—all items.
