§ Mr. Parryasked the Prime Minister if she will list in the Official Report the names of hon. Members, other persons and bodies, who have written to her concerning the proposed closure of the Tate and Lyle refinery, Liverpool; and what reply she has sent.
§ The Prime MinisterA number of hon. Members and other persons and organisations have written to me about 371W this closure. I have confirmed that the decision is one for the company itself and that it does not undermine commitments given to the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. I have referred all requests for meetings to my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food but agreed to meet the hon. Member as the Member in whose constituency the refinery is situated.
