§ Mr. Peter MorrisonIt is not possible, at this stage, to give a precise estimate of the number of young people who will be participating in the youth opportunites programme (YOP) at the end of December 1981.
However, we have expanded the programme to enable 440,000 unemployed young people to take part in YOP schemes over the financial year 1981–82. It is estimated that a programme of this size will mean on average between 160,000 and 180,000 filled places in 1981–82.
