§ Mr. RifkindSince the publication by the Tay Road Bridge Joint Board of its proposals for the revision of tolls, my right hon. Friend has received 19 representations in favour of abolishing the tolls.
The Government's policy is that tolls should continue to be charged on those estuarial crossings which provide 350W exceptional benefit to the users. Following a public local inquiry, my right hon. Friend announced on 17 February his approval, with one amendment, of the joint board's proposals.
