§ 40. Mr. Nicholas Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Employment when he plans to lay before this House regulations giving effect to the European Economic Community rules, on guaranteed rights for employees in mergers and transfers.
§ Mr. WaddingtonI hope to lay the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations in the near future. These regulations will implement the Directive (77/187/EEC) relating to the safeguarding of employees' rights in the event of transfers of undertakings, businesses or parts of business.
