§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for Trade what representations he has received from the textile and 12W clothing industries regarding the multi-fibre arrangement; and if he will list the items considered to be most sensitive by (a) the industry and (b) his Department.
§ Mr. ParkinsonI have received a great many representations from the textile and clothing industries both about the present multi-fibre arrangement and the negotiations for a successor arrangement. I have also received representations from bodies representing the interests of importers, retailers, consumers and the developing countries. Many of these bodies have listed points they wish the Government to take into account in the negotiation of a new multi-fibre arrangement, but without, in general, assigning specific priorities. My Department is currently considering all these submissions.
