§ The Prime MinisterOur general policy is to increase the effectiveness of government by removing unnecessary intervention from the centre. We have already reduced the number of bureaucratic controls over local government in Wales and will continue to do so. The same approach applies to other public bodies. The Government are already fully accountable to Parliament.
