asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the De Lorean Car Company Ltd.

I understand that series production of the car has commenced, that the company is now employing 880 persons and that the sales launch will take place in the United States of America in April 1981.

With regard to the company's recent application for government assistance I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave earlier today to my hon. Friend the Member for Knutsford (Mr. Bruce-Gardyne).
