§ Sir David Priceasked the Secretary of State for Industry what is his latest estimate of the amount of public moneys which will be made available during 1981–82 in support of British Leyland, the British Steel Corporation, British Aerospace, British Shipbuilders, Rolls-Royce and the National Enterprise Board, respectively.
§ Mr. Michael MarshallDetails of the provision of finance in 1981–82 to the above bodies will be given in the White Paper on public expenditure to be presented to the House on 10 March and in the Supply Estimates. It would not be appropriate for me to anticipate the publication of these documents. Details of the proposed support to BL Ltd. were of course announced by the Secretary of State for Industry on 26 January, including the provision of £620 million in 1981–82. In addition, an external financing limit of £150 million for British Shipbuilders was announced on 24 November.
