§ Mr. Peter Rees[pursuant to his reply, 2 February 1981, c. 34]: The value in 1980–81 to a basic rate taxpayer of the mortgage interest relief on an average mortgage and on a mortgage of £25,000 or more is, approximately, £350 and £1,106 a year respectively.
