§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what financial scale it is envisaged that the probation and after-care service will make provision for intermediate treatment schemes under the proposals in the White Paper on young offenders.
§ Mr. MayhewWe shall be obtaining assessments of need from the service which will be taken into account in the Government's expenditure plans. It would then be for probation and after-care committees in conjunction with local authorities to determine the level of expenditure in their areas.
