§ Sir George YoungAs a result of the letter from MIND referred to in my reply of 11 December to the hon. Member for Woolwich, East (Mr. Cartwright) officials of the Department met representatives of MIND last week, for a discussion on general issues relating to consent to various forms of treatment—including psychosurgery—in the context of our current review of the Mental Health Act. No other representations have been received since 4 December.
