Member for Sheffield, Brightside, whether the facilities at 191W Middlewood hospital, Sheffield, are of an adequate standard; and whether he is satisfied that the Sheffield area health authority has the necessary resources to carry out improvements.
§ Sir George YoungSheffield area health authority (teaching) accepts the need to improve facilities at Middlewood hospital, and plans, within the resources available, to reduce the number of in-patients and to maintain an acute psychiatric role for the hospital. The allocation of resources to the area health authority (teaching) is a matter for the Trent regional health authority.
