§ Mr. Michael Brownasked the Minister for the Civil Service (1) if he is satisfied that all official papers containing sensitive material relating to commercial and business matters would be adequately protected under the Freedom of Information Bill;
(2) if he is satisfied that the work of the security and intelligence services could be adequately protected under the Freedom of Information Bill.
§ Mr. HayhoeNo, I am not satisfied that the exemptions as drafted in schedule 1 to the Freedom of Information Bill covering commercial material of a sensitive nature, often given in confidence, and security and intelligence matters, provide adequate protection.
