§ Mr. HurdThe suggestion was made by my hon. Friend the Member for Howden (Sir P. Bryan) on 28 January.—[Vol. 997, c. 952.] The term was one of a number suggested by the Hong Kong Government as an alternative title for the third category of citizenship. The technical reasons for preparing the term Citizen of the British Dependent Territories have been explained to the Hong Kong Government. No other representations have been received in support of the proposal described by the right hon. Member.
