§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Solicitor-General for Scotland how many cases of suicide were notified to his Department in the past year; and in how many cases the person was unemployed.
§ The Solicitor-General for ScotlandOf the 2,480 deaths reported by procurators fiscal to Crown Office during 1980, 377 were considered by Crown counsel to justify the term "suicidal". I am unable to say whether any of these persons were unemployed at the time of their6W deaths since no record of this is kept by my Department and the details could not be obtained without disproportionate cost.
