§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in view of the changing pattern of work of regional medical officers, he will review their responsibilities in connection with the certification of capacity for work, and examine the extent to which general practitioners should be further involved.
§ Mr. RossiWe are at present reviewing all the work of the Department's regional medical officers, including the work they carry out for other Government Departments. This review includes consideration of their responsibilities in connection with the certification of incapacity for work and the involvement of general practitioners.
