HC Deb 23 December 1981 vol 15 c447W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is his estimate of the number and percentage of households which failed to complete the 1981 census forms;

(2) how many people have been prosecuted for failing to complete the 1981 census form.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

Some 5,000 households—0.03 per cent.—have been reported by census officers as having neglected or refused to complete acceptable forms. After considering the evidence in each case, some 850 summonses have been issued.
