§ Mr. Gordon Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Energy (1) what records are kept of significant corrosion on offshore structures; and of how many cases he is aware in each of the last three years;
(2) pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Dundee, East of 16 May 1980, if there has been any change in the frequency of inspections for, or in the pattern of, corrosion encountered in relation to offshore structures and related equipment.
§ Mr. GrayRecords of corrosion on offshore structures and related equipment are kept in the reports of the annual and five-yearly major surveys made by the certifying authorities.
There have been no significant cases of corrosion in the past three years and no changes in the pattern observed. The frequency of inspection has not been changed.
