§ Mr. David HowellIn the survey of a random sample of heavy goods vehicles carried out by the transport and road research laboratory in May 1980 near Hull, the axle weights of 1,646 vehicles were measured with a total of 1,811 drive axles. 87–4.8 per cent. —of these latter 329W weighed 10.17 tonnes or more. A dynamic weighbridge was not used in this particular survey and all the axles were weighed with the vehicle stationary.
