(2) how many people were employed in glass companies in the Barnsley tavel-to-work area for each year for which figures are available from 1964 to the present time;
(3) how many people were employed in engineering companies in the Barnsley tavel-to-work area for each year for which figures are available from 1964 until the present time;
(4) how many people were employed in the coal industry in the Barnsley tavel-to-work area for each year for which figures are available from 1964 to the present time.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonStatistics of the numbers of employees in local areas are available from censuses of employment conducted annually from 1971 to 1978. Censuses were not taken in 1979 and 1980. Employment information for 1981 is currently being collected. Figures for years before 1971 could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
Information for glass companies alone cannot be given without indirectly disclosing confidential information relating to individual undertakings. The following table therefore includes figures for a broader group of industries comprising the manufacture of glass, bricks, fireclay and refractory goods, pottery, cement abrasives and other building materials.
