§ Sir Frederick Burdenasked the Secretary of State for Defence if, further to his answer to the hon. Member for Gillingham of 12 November, he will identify those nuclear submarines where long-life cores have already been fitted and give the dates on which they were fitted; and if he will identify those nuclear submarines where long-life cores are proposed to be fitted and the date proposed for the fitting in each case.
§ Mr. BlakerIt is not the practice to disclose details of the operational capabilities of individual ships or submarines, but I can say that by 1 April 1984 all SSNs apart from "Dreadnought" will have been fitted with improved reactor cores.
