§ Mr. ChannonIn order to ensure that the estimates that I present to Parliament are soundly based, and that museum staff are properly graded and complemented, my officials keep in close and frequent contact with those of the museum and watch the progress of its activities and expenditure. Responsibility for the running of the museum and for its expenditure of public funds is, however, a matter for the museum's trustees and its director, who is the accounting officer for the museum's vote.
