HC Deb 14 December 1981 vol 15 c50W
Mr. Marks

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied that proper arrangements are made for patients' records when general practitioners retire, die or move from an area.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

Such arrangements are determined locally. Family Practitioner Committees remind family doctors from time to time about the need for the secure care of documents and I am not aware of any shortcoming in practice. If the hon. Member has any particular difficulties in mind and will let me have the details, I will look into the matter.
