§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithThe British Sugar Corporation's latest estimate is that the average yield for the crop as a whole will be 37–38 tonnes of beet per hectare with an average sugar content of about 16½ per cent. This should produce between 1.10 million and 1.14 million tonnes of sugar.
