§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Prime Minister what representations she has received from the Greater Manchester Association of Metropolitan Authorities about the decline in the industrial and employment structure of Greater Manchester and the need to designate the county a development area; what reply she is sending; if she will be agreeing to receive a deputation from the association; and if she will make a statement.
§ The Prime MinisterI have received a memorandum entitled "The Case for Development Area status for the County Area". While I shall not myself be able to receive a deputation, I would refer the right hon. Member to the reply he has been given today by my hon. Friend the Minister of State for Industry.
