§ Mr. MayhewMembers of diplomatic missions must hold a firearms certificate in respect of any firearm or ammunition which is used or carried outside the confines of an embassy, legation, consulate or similar establishment, but the number of weapons so authorised is not recorded centrally. No special restrictions are imposed on such certificates, but the holders are subject to the provisions of the Firearms Act 1968 relating to the possession of weapons in a public place.
