§ Mr. Flanneryasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what plans he has for the continuance of contacts with the Government of the Republic of Ireland; and when the next meeting is to take place.
§ Mr. PriorFollowing their meeting on 6 November, my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister and the Taoiseach issued a joint communiqué which recorded their decision to establish an Anglo-Irish Inter-governmental Council. This will involve regular meetings between the two Governments at Ministerial and official levels to discuss matters of common concern. I look forward to further meetings on this basis, but I have no specific plans at present.
