§ Mr. Rentonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why the borrowings up to the new limit of £1.5 billion guaranteed by the Treasury, of British Nuclear Fuels Limited, fall outside the public sector borrowing requirement.
§ Mr. Brittan[pursuant to his reply, 30 November 1981, c. 17]: When British Nuclear Fuels Limited was set up as a Companies Act company in 1971 it was classified to the private sector. Thus borrowing by the company from the market does not impinge on the public sector borrowing requirement.
