§ Mr. Stephen Rossasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, following the recommendations of the working party on water safety in private swimming pools open to the public, he intends to seek to amend section 233 of the Public Health Act 1936.
§ Mr. MacFarlaneI do not propose any such amendments. Local authorities already have powers under section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 to take action against the operators of private swimming pools which are operated unsafely.
