§ Dr. BoysonAll statutory proposals are considered on their individual merits. In general my right hon. Friend sees distinct advantages in retaining choice between different types of provision, where these are consistent with educational and economic considerations and are in accord with parental preference. He will be prepared to approve proposals which would remove sixth forms from schools of proven quality only where there are compelling educational reasons for doing so.
