§ Mr. Bob Dunnasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will issue a statement giving details of his intended response to the refusal by the West German Government to ratify the Plant Health Directive 77/93.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerThis directive was due to be implemented by member States on 1 May 1980, but the Federal Republic of Germany was given an extension until 1 January 1981. It is the duty of the Commission of the European Communities to take up with member States any failure to implement Community directives, and I understand that it is making formal representations to the Federal Republic about its failure to implement this directive.
