§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the projects which have been submitted by his Department to the European Economic Community during the past 12 months involving requests for grant-aid towards the maintenance or development of the public railway service in the United Kingdom; if he will itemise 193W the size of grant requested in each instance; and which of these applications have, so far, been accepted and which rejected.
§ Mr. FowlerOne application has been submitted to the European Commission during the past 12 months. This relates to rail infrastructure improvements in South Yorkshire. The application has been successful and will attract grant from the European regional development fund of about £1.05 million.
