§ Mr. HurdOur position on these agenda items will depend on the circumstances of the debate and draft resolutions put forward. Our general policy towards the Palestinian issue, at the United Nations as elsewhere, stems from our desire for a comprehensive negotiated settlement of the Arab-Israel dispute on the basis of the principles set out in the Venice declaration of 13 June 1980.
