§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will provide an estimate of the number of people in Wales who will be paying income tax in the year 1981–82 who would not have done so had allowances been raised as specified in section 22 of the Finance Act 1977.
§ Mr. Peter ReesAlthough precise information is not available, I estimate that the number will be in the region of 50,000 people, compared to 1¼ million in the United Kingdom as a whole.
