Friend has ensured that Nissan's consultants, who are considering the suitability of locations throughout the United Kingdom for the proposed car plant, are fully aware of the advantages of sites in Scotland. In addition, I understand that a number of local authorities and other bodies have made direct approaches to the company in respect of particular sites.
