§ 20. Mr. John Mackayasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will meet the chairman of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board to discuss future developments in the generation of electricity by hydro power.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherThe planning of new generating capacity in Scotland is the responsibility of the Scottish electricity boards. I understand that, while the boards have no plans at present to proceed with the construction of major new hydro-electric schemes, the hydro board has a number of small-scale run of river schemes under consideration.
