§ Mr. MacGregorIndustry in Greater Manchester as elsewhere has felt the effects of the world-wide recession. The Government's policies, including the priority attached to reducing inflation and curtailing public expenditure, will create the climate for soundly based and competitive industry to develop. The extent to which industry thrives will depend to a considerable extent on the enthusiasm and efficiency of management and work force.
