§ Mr. John Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Wales what are the numbers of young people who have completed a youth opportunities programme course in the last convenient 12 months in Wales; and how many are now unemployed.
§ Mr. Wyn RobertsComprehensive information on participation in the programme is available only in relation to the number of entrants. In the 12 months to 6 March 1981, some 29,500 young people entered the programme. The latest available estimates based on sample surveys suggest that in Wales about 24 per cent. were registered as unemployed three to five months after leaving the programme.
