asked the Minister of Agriculture. Fisheries and Food how many live cattle were imported from Northern Ireland in 1980; and what were the corresponding numbers for the last four years.

Published Customs and Excise figures do not distinguish trade occurring within the United Kingdom. However, returns of cattle movements from Northern Ireland and to Great Britain are provided by the port veterinary officers.

Based on these returns total live cattle imported into Great Britain from Northern Ireland were as follows:
