§ Mr. RidleyWe strongly deplored the military intervention in Bolivia. We remain concerned about reported violations of human rights. The question of recognition does not arise and our ambassador remains in La Paz. In consultation with our European partners, we are, however, continuing for the present to restrict formal dealings with the regime. We are keeping the position under review.
